Remember when Jorg Neumann, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, said that we’d be hearing a lot more about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in September? Well it’s September and it looks like things are about to get interesting. A new developer stream is coming up and we apparently won’t want to miss it. Let’s have a look at what we know!
Don’t miss this one

Nearly every month since release, Microsoft Flight Simulator has hosted a Developer Stream. Jorg Neumann, Sebastian Wloch, Martial Bossard, and Community Manager Jayne Jummivana have taken to Twitch.TV with questions answered and new products shown off together with a host of guests from various partners. I’ve genuinely enjoyed these presentations with their range of answering questions, dealing with tough technique problems, and showing off the latest and greatest coming to the simulation.
Coming up on September 25 at 10:30 am PT we have the next scheduled stream. This one is bound to be a little special, however, and the messaging posted around the community by Microsoft has indicated the following.
Mark your calendar, on September 25 we will be having a Developer Stream that you won’t want to miss!
That is no doubt an indication that things are about to take-off (pun intended) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. We have, of course, seen a fair bit of the sim already thanks to a teaser trailer released last year and a second trailer released this year. The team have given us glimpses of work in progress technology and revealed a lengthy list of partnerships, talked to us about some of the new gameplay and activity modes that we can expect, shown off new and updated content, and even revealed that they were doing their own 737 MAX 8 in-house at Asobo with the intent of creating the most detailed airplane that the team there had ever done.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 already looks nothing short of ambitious firing away on all cylinders and aiming to bring us core technology updates and a huge array of new content. Can they deliver on all of it? We’ll, of course, have to see what they can do but I am nonetheless excited to have the curtains drawn back. Let’s see what they are planning to do!
