Another A330 is releasing this month and its coming from X-Plane developer ToLiss who are well known for their growing line of Airbus airliner simulations. The latest aircraft to release is the A330-900, the A330neo variant that has recently been gaining traction with airlines. We’ve got release date and some new features to keep in mind so lets have a look.

Release date, features, screenshots

ToLiss have announced that their latest Airbus, the A330-900neo, is still on track for an October 19 release. The aircraft is in beta testing and reportedly has no significant issues. The developers are veteran Airbus airliner simulation creators with a lengthy list of aircraft including the A340, A320neo, A320ceo, and more. The A330-900 is part of the NEO or New Engine Option side of the Airbus family with the re-engined and re-winged airliner looking to replace older A330s and similar widebody options with this new more efficient model.

The simulated version will have deep systems simulation, situation save for mid-flight continuation, detailed FMGS with custom MCDU and the ability to perform holds, offsets and other advanced features. The aircraft will have a tablet based control system with EFB style features like other ToLiss products (and most airliners on the market), digital radio panel, custom developed engine modeling, and other ToLiss standard features. The airplane will also have, on X-Plane 12 only, a new HUD display.

  1. I see some people complaining about textures (which is a common comment in re Toliss), but those images look pretty good to me…?

I think it looks pretty good too from the screenshots. ToLiss has sometimes had slightly less impressive art but usually made up for it with great systems work.

  2. I used their A340 as a training aid when I was learning to fly the A330. I found it to be almost completely accurate especially as far as FMS, autopilot, and FBW laws. It’s still one of my favorite planes to fly on all my flight sims.

That’s pretty incredible and a good endorsement for how good their work is on that part of the airplane.
