The PMDG 737 series has just seen a major upgrade offered bringing the products up to version 3.00.0105 and offering a slew of fixes, refinements and new features. This is one of the biggest upgrades to the series since the launch. Let’s have a look!

Features and fixes

PMDG’s 7373 line has been among the most popular airliners in the sim with a variety of 737NG variants on offer. The 737-600 has been particularly notable thanks to its low price as a great way to get into the series while the -700, -800 and -900 are among the more popular types.

Upgrades to the aircraft line include improved aircraft feel and handling, refinements to the autopilot system, implementation of the Asobo weather radar system, and an overhaul of the navigation data system switching to a more modern NaviGraph database format which they were already employing on the 777.

There’s also some big updates to the 737 tablet with a lot of added features. You can now, from the tablet, control ground connections (ground power, terminal power, air condition and air start units), visualize and interact with ground vehicles, perform maintenance tasks, and interact with every door on the aircraft. There’s also new Navigraph functionality for both Xbox and PC.

All in all this looks like a solid fix and the added features on the EFB tablet appear to be bringing the aircraft more in line with the competition.

  1. I’ve only taken one flight, and I think it handles a bit better, but it still seems waaay too easy to butter a landing.

In any case, this is a MAJOR upgrade and my BBJ flights will GREATLY appreciate it 🙂

    1. I haven’t had a chance to fly them yet. Sounds generally like a good update.

I’m glad they finally relented on the weather radar thing. I know it’s a complex issue but something is better than slapping INOP on the system. I’m glad!
