A roadmap has come out from Parallel 42 listing definitive information on how most of their product line is going to be upgraded from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 to the 2024 version. Let’s check it out!
Roadmap and pricing
Parallel 42 have setup a compatibility dashboard giving an overview of what will happen with each of their products – will they move to a 2024 native format or will they be setup to be 2024 compatible.
Any product released within 1-year will be upgraded for free to a 2024 native version. That’s a nice little commitment right there! Upgraded products that require money to move up to the new sim are going to be available for an upgrade price of … $2. Not bad! Others will be for free as already mentioned.
They’ve also announced that their Fox2 aircraft will be updated to make it 2024 compatible and that a complete-new Fox2 (a version 2) will be built up from scratch with new 2024 features, WWISE sounds, and leverage all of the learning that the group has accomplished over the last few years.
Parallel 42 report that 30 out of 37 products will be updated to 2024 standard (compatible or native) and that their internal developer roadmap takes them out anywhere from weeks to months of work to make the transition.
