If you’re looking for a high fidelity business jet experience in X-Plane 12, the newest offering on the block has just released. TorqueSim have just launched their Take Command! series CitationJet 525 for X-Plane 12. Let’s have a look!

Take command of a CitationJet 525

TorqueSim aircraft for X-Plane have traditionally received high marks and plenty of accolades from around the community for their efforts to create high fidelity offerings. This has included their SR-20 and SR-22 series, BN-2 series, and the Pocket Rocket. Now they are offering the CitationJet 525 for sale.

The marketing for the product tout deep and immersive systems simulation with complete electrical and hydraulic simulation, several avionics options, detailed exterior and interior, custom calculated flight modeling, and immersive soundscape.

The aircraft comes with several avionics options with the first being a standard, for the CitationJet 525, Honeywell avionics system with Universal UNS-1 Flight Management System. This includes 2 COM radios, 2 NAV radios, an ADF receiver, as well as dual transponders. They’ve also optionally made available a variant of that with a pair of X-Plane GNS530 with the ability to use both the GNS530 and the UNS-1 together. Another option offers dual GTN750Xi supporting the upcoming TDS Sim GTNXi for X-Plane (sold separately). They also are offering support for the RealityXP GTN750 and GNS530 (also sold separately).

The aircraft is on sale as of today (at 12:00 pm EST) for $84.95 USD through the TorqueSim website. There’s also a trailer to watch below, an announcement post about the product here, and an in-depth look at the avionics here.

  1. Conti’s review looked pretty epic for this one – only too bad I’ve already been using Aerobask’s Phenom 300 lately which can confirm is very good in itself. Maybe if the TS goes on sale sometime, otherwise I’m good for now…

    1. The Aerobask Phenom 300 is a personal favourite of mine. Great airplane to fly in X-Plane!

    2. Oops, I mean a later (bigger) sale – thinking more $40-60 range as 80’s a bit steep for the moment.

Engine 1 parameters copy engine 2. No difference in engines, no instrument error – for 80 bucks. Is it that hard to change parameter display by one percent to increase immersion?

  3. I’d like to get this, but I just don’t see the value prop here vs the other Hi Fi X-Plane addons out there.

It should be in the same price class as the AFL King Air, or a few dollars more (which is a GREAT addon!).

At this price, it’s competing with the likes of the also-brand new FF 777, Rotate MD 11, Toliss and other Top Tier addons of super-complex airliners.

X-Aviation is a luxury brand, and to me this is a Toyota Camry dressed up with a Lexus badge on the hood: a great addon priced too high for what it actually delivers.

    1. It is pricey! Sounds like it might be a good buy with a modest discount though but you’re right that its competing with some other high end offerings and they have a bit more to offer from the looks of it.
