If you’ve got one of Just Flight’s MSFS 2020 or recently X-Plane 12 releases, their end of year round-up part one is going to give you a pretty good idea of what the developer and publisher of aircraft for multiple sims is doing. From the Hawk T1/A to the Vulcan to the F28 to the Piper Arrow and Warrior series, they’ve covered them all. Here’s what you need to know!

Supporting their current products

Running down the list of products, Just Flight look to have robust support for their aircraft especially with 2024 upgrades which appear to be coming for free to their entire lineup. Fantastic!

The entire PA-28 fleet including the Arrow III, Arrow IV and Warrior II are all being upgraded to MSFS 2024 compatibility. In November, Just Flight released a flight model update for the PA-28-161 Warrior II for MSFS 2020. That included ground friction support and CFD flight model. Those improvements are coming to the Arrow III and IV series as well together with a MSFS 2024 compatibility update. The PA-38 Tomahawk, another GA offering in the collection, also will get a MSFS 2024 compatibility upgrade. They are also evaluating if their custom pre-flight walkaround feature will be upgraded to the 2024 system that does a similar thing.

The Hawk T1/A and Vulcan, two of their military aircraft offerings, are both receiving some updates and 2024 compatibility upgrades too. The Hawk has a significant version 2 upgrade, free for current owners, with both the version 2 and MSFS 2024 support coming on the same day. Improvements include fixes to nav lights, HSI hobble, drum animations, a selection of new liveries, and visual weapon display for Marketplace owners (thanks to a change in policy there). The Vulcan is reportedly in a great place according to the team and needs only a few small tweaks to the custom smoke effects and addition of visual weapons for Marketplace owners there too.

Just Flight report that the BAe 146 is one of their most successful offerings. It’s already seen a big Version 2 upgrade earlier in the year. Another large(ish) update is planned focused on feedback from the player base with improved systems logic and various bug fixes and it will, like the others, get a 2024 compatibility upgrade too. Meanwhile, the similar Avro RJ has just been released and already has a MSFS 2024 compatibility update in. A version 1.3 is planned with bug fixes, improvements and feature requests in place.

Last but not least… the Fokker F28! Version 2 upgrade is still in the works with custom coded UNS-1 FMS, new cockpit equipment such as an altitude preselect controller, interactive checklists, two types of oxygen regulator, redesigned EFB with passenger boarding, and various other feature requests. The update for the Fokker was planned for the end of the year but is taking a little longer and will come early in 2025 with Version 2 and MSFS 2024 compatibility updates coming in at the same time.

X-Plane 12 isn’t left out of the mix either. Working with Thranda, Just Flight have released the Duchess Model 76, PA-28R Arrow III and PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV for X-Plane 12 with support for the newer sim’s latest features. The next aircraft to get the same treatment is the PA-28-161 Warrior II with the 8K textures, custom coded EFB, aircraft configuration options and dynamic liveries all coming. The aircraft is set to release in 2025.

FS Traffic, a traffic injection and 3D model package for MSFS 2020, is about to get a big update coming shortly too. After that, the team are intent on looking at potential for MSFS 2024 with the feeling being that they can still offer more than what the current MSFS 2024 traffic system offers. They are still evaluating the potential for release on Xbox with memory constraints continuing to be an issue.

What about the future?

Just Flight aren’t done with their updates and will reportedly be doing further updates all week. The Fokker 70/100 will apparently be featured in an update on Wednesday according to their social media team. There will also be a new aircraft announcement coming out by end of the week so we’ll have to see what that ends up being!

Meanwhile, the team are already quite busy with the A300B4 Professional, Tornado GR1, and F70/F100 all in development right now. I wonder what else they may be cooking up!
