Classic airliners have experienced a bit of a renaissance in flight simulation in MSFS 2020 and Just Flight have been one of the developers that have contributed to offering up some interesting options in the marketplace. Their Fokker F28 is one such example and the team working on it are nearly ready to launch a large version 2 update. Let’s take a look at some of the latest images and details.

Fokker version 2

Taking technology and techniques developed for the BAe 146 version 2 and Avro RJ projects, Just Flight are now planning to roll out a version 2 for the Fokker F28. They say that the project has been in the works for about a year now and brings many new features.

They are adding the UNS-1 FMS from their other projects over to the newly updated aircraft. Also coming are boarding and refuelling logical with GSX integration, interactive checklists, new EFB table update, five new liveries and an upgraded autopilot.

The above screenshots show some of the new features in action together with the slightly updated cockpit with new instrumentation for the autopilot and UNS-1. All of these appear to be adding quite a bit of value to the project and best yet, Just Flight are offering these V2 upgrades for free to current owners.

The V2 upgrade will also bring with it MSFS 2024 compatibility so the new jet can live on in the new sim. Great news indeed.

Read about the F28 v2 upgrade over here on the Just Flight Facebook page and check out the F28 Professional for MSFS on the company’s product page. If you want my take on the airplane, my review is available here.

For those of you waiting for news on the Fokker 70/100, we haven’t heard too much recently but getting the F28 version 2 out ahead of a ramp up to a Fokker 70/100 launch wouldn’t be entirely out of character for the company. We could see that airliner arrive later this year.
