Another IL-2 Korea developer update is out and this time its focused on the IL-10. This successor to the IL-2 is being shown off for the first time with some pre-rendered images as well as a few screenshots plus we learn a little about the type’s history in Korea. Let’s go.

Sturmovik refined

The IL-10 is quite an interesting aircraft seeing service at the very end of World War II and then seeing service flying with North Korea during the Korean War. All metal construction, new engine, and significant redesign of the basic IL-2 design lead to the much more refined IL-10. Faster than the earlier version, the developers in the update quote an nominal sea level speed increase from 389 km/h to 507 km/h.

The developer update doesn’t talk too much about the aircraft beyond the historical overview but we are also treated to some pre-rendered shots like this one.

A follow-up update will give us a look at the cockpit area which is always interesting.

One response to “IL-2 Korea dev update focuses in on IL-10”

  1. The IL-10 is indeed an interesting aircraft. I hope that in the new series they could do a Polish 1944 campaign, as they could reuse the IL-10 for this hypothetical module.
