A new and interesting airport scenery pack has just released from FSimStudio for MSFS 2020 and 2024. Nuuk is the developers first 2025 release and it focuses in on the recently renovated and opened Nuuk International Airport. Let’s have a look!

New scenery for a new(ish) airport

FSimStudios have just released Nuuk International Airport (BGGH) for MSFS2020 and 2024. The team have developed a series of other airports including Kelowna, Vancouver, Halifax and Toronto Island (one of my favs in MSFS 2020) and has now gone over to Greenland for their next product.

The scenery is up to date as of February 2025, is based on in person photography and scans, has hand made terrain corrections, and includes several points of interest in the city of Nuuk.

Interesting destination

This scenery is particularly notable because Nuuk airport has been in aviation news recently thanks to major renovation and reopening as a international airport.

Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, has traditionally had quite a small airport with a 950 meter or 3,117 ft runway suitable for smaller aircraft only. The last few years have seen the airport get a significant makeover with a brand new terminal and a new 2,200 m or 7,200 ft runway.

The expanded runway and new facilities have made the airport a more attractive destination removing the need for a domestic hop for local residents while opening the airport up to more international travel. Air Greenland bought a single A330-800neo to operate from the airport and a small fleet of Dash 8 airliners connects it to other local airports. Other operators like Iceland Air plans to fly Dash 8 airliners into airport but will move to 737 MAX in the summer of 2025. United will begin flying from Newark to the airport in the summer and SAS has similar summer plans flying in from Copehagen.

If that sounds like an interesting flight for you, check out the scenery on the FSimStudios website for $14.99 USD. It can also be found on Orbx and Contrail webstores.
