There was a new DCS World update that came out this week packed full of new and updated features for the sim. This week we’re also learning about a couple of new campaigns for the Mosquito and Hornet and there’s a few other items to cover. Let’s have a look
Core sim updates the focus
A development progress update from Eagle Dynamics this week comes jam packed with quite a bit of information.
Core updates include AI aircraft improvements adjusting how the AI flies in formation and performs attack patterns. There are loadout changes too. Meanwhile AI ships and ground vehicles have new effects and a new smoke effect when their health percentage drops to 25% or lower.
There are also adjustments to the AIM-120’s missile fusing logic, the R-24 missile has been given an overhaul, and various other ships have seen adjustments to drag profiles and guidance systems.
They’ve also been working on the UI to solve some issues with the interface responding slowly.
They’ve also added a beta test of the new save mission system that was detailed last week. Really interested to see how that works out.
Loads of modules have seen individual updates including the F-16C, F/A-18C, Mi-24P, Ka-50, F-5E, and even the F-86F and Yak-52 are getting fixes. There are also new vapour efforts for the Su-27 and Su-33.
