There seems to be a bit of a theme going on these days with version 2.0 releases of many popular products popping up – not that I’m complaining! X-Crafts is the latest with a 2.0 release and this is a large one for the X-Plane developer with a significant across the board upgrade to their popular E-Jets series which grows the family by one more variant. Let’s have a look!

Lineage 1000 and 2.0 Family upgrades

X-Crafts have been refining their E-Jets Family series for quite some time now and the latest iteration of the series has jumped up to version 2.0 while also adding one more member to the family – the Lineage 1000.

Embraer’s Lineage 1000 is a, simply put, an E-Jet airliner configured in a business jet configuration. It’s a $50-million dollar luxury plane which X-Crafts have simulated with its unique features.

The Lineage 1000 has more powerful engines, an 8,500km range, integrated air-stairs not found on the conventional passenger models, optional SATCOM antenna, and more. X-Crafts have given this model four liveries with each having their own custom interior complete with animated blinds, tables, doors, and working cabin TVs (displaying flight info).

Meanwhile, V2.0 has new features for all of the E-Jets Family. An ambient lighting modifier provides three options that help mitigate X-Plane 12’s current dark cockpit/cabin issue. It also has noise cancelling headphone option, new RNAV support, realistic strobe and nav lights, updated EFB tablet, new custom fuel system (especially for the Lineage 1000 with its auxiliary tanks), and a new autobrake system.

The package deal with all five variants is now $149.95 (a slight increase from before) and an upgrade price of $84.99 USD is also available. V2.0 is a free upgrade for current owners.

The individual aircraft or complete family package is available here on the X-Plane.org Store. Learn more about the E-Jets Family here!

  1. I’m going to be the first one to say it. We need a super high fidelity Embraer E-Jet and E2-Jet for MSFS 2020 and 2024. I think X-Craft should be the one to do it as they have proven themselves to do a really good job with their E-Jet for X-Plane. But if someone else comes along and does an E-Jet for MSFS and does it to an excellent level of high fidelity, I will buy it no matter what. As for the E2-Jet, if I were to do the family I would wait until 2028-30 as I think by then there will be enough flight information collected over the years to make a comprehensive addon for MSFS 2020 or 2024.

I don’t think you’re the first one to say it 🙂

X-Crafts and FlightSim Studio AG have a partnership. X-Crafts provided the 3D model for the FSS E-Jets series. More, Marko has said that he’s not interested in developing for MSFS.

I am hopeful for an E2 model though! We’ll see who delivers it.

      1. I would love to see an Embraer E2-Jet family for MSFS 2020 and 2024. Beautiful plane, and very capable of linking cities like Toronto and Los Angeles. I can see just by looking at the exterior design that a lot of work and innovation was put into the E2 program. It isn’t just a re-engined version of the original E-Jet, but they redesigned other features like the wings and gave it a smaller tail to reduce drag. Hope to fly on one one day.

  2. I think that Fenix should do the Embraer E-Jet. There is a huge gap in the market for one, and while I am aware that FSS is in partnership with X-Craft, I think Fenix could make a brilliant E-Jet for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, given the amount of work they have put into their A320 family. Why they don’t do it I don’t know. I am hoping you could give me some insight.

I’m not sure what Fenix Simulations has planned but I suspect they will stick with what they know – Airbus. Most developers doing complex aircraft tend to stick with a specific type as the time and money needed to build resources and develop underlying technology is best spread out across multiple product lines. X-Crafts and the E-Jets, ToLiss and Fenix with the Airbus, PMDG with the Boeing line, etc. Business decisions.

      1. I hope someone does a high fidelity Embraer aircraft for MSFS and sticks with Embraer. I really want to fly an E-2 aircraft, whether it is the E-175, E-190 or E-195 E2.
