The early access launch of IL-2 Siege and Liberation, the next (and possibly last) Great Battles major add-on is on the way. A new developer diary has some nuggets of information on what is planned for early access and offers a showcase of the two maps included in the project with new screenshots, new images of included aircraft and more.
Development update

1C Game Studios is reporting that their work on this project is ongoing and that they expect to complete the work during 2025. A pre-order and early access launch is planned as well which will happen when at least three of the project’s planned eight aircraft are complete as well as at least one of the maps. It’s expected that the Odessa map will probably be first out of the gate.
The Gulf of Finland map, being developed by a third party group called KarttaKomppania (see my exclusive Q&A), is also making progress with a reported 204 x 277 kilometer setup. The city of Vyborg (Viipuri before the war for historians), several small towns, villages, ports, bridges and 20 aerodromes have been completed. The team will be switching from the Finnish part of the map to the Soviet part of the map developing the city of Lenningrad in the next couple of months.
As you can see in the screenshots, we’ve also got new images of the included aircraft. New images of the I-153, LaGG-3 Series 4, Yak-1 Series 23, and Yak-3 Series 9 are all shown. We’ve yet to see the Bf109E-4, La-7 Series 1, IL-2 Model 1944, or Ju87D-5 but those are coming eventually as well.
