The next aircraft in 1C Game Studios ongoing developer updates for their upcoming IL-2 Korea flight sim is the Lavochkin La-11 fighter. This is an interesting piece of history as the aircraft is a descendent of the earlier Lavochkin fighters that are well known from WWII. The La-11, on the other hand, is relatively obscure (at least to Western audiences). Here’s what we’ve seen of it so far.

Nothing from in-engine just yet but these renders show off the details put into the model for the La-11 for IL-2 Korea. The developer diary is mostly focused on the history of the airplane and some of its notable features.
While the La-11 is an evolution of the earlier Lavochkin fighters, the new model has some key differences. While speed is relatively similar, the range is boosted significantly from the 700 km of the La-7 to 2500km of this La-11 model.
A new laminar flow wing, redesigned and re-positioned radiators, and a bank of three NS-23S cannons (23mm cannons) with 75 rounds per gun offer more weight of fire than the 20mm ShVAK from the La-7. Unlike the La-7, the aircraft is a pure fighter with no bombs or rocket options.
This latest developer diary from 1CGS is a follow-up to one from several weeks back showing off the La-11 cockpit.
