Marking the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, MicroProse has shown off a series of work in progress screenshots of their work in progress B-17G for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Let’s have a look!

Progress on the Flying Fortress

MicroProse report that they are working away on their B-17G for Microsoft Flight Simulator and are marking a celebratory and also sombre moment. The latest screenshots show off ample angles of the exterior as well as one new image of the interior cockpit.

The update posted on their website also says that the team are working together with the Hangar Thirteen Foundation and the 100th Bomb Group Foundation to gather the necessary resources and materials to help bring this to life.

Asked in the comments section, representatives of the company report that their B-17 The Flying Fortress: The Bloody 100th product is also still in the works.

  1. I think it’s great that there will be a B-17 in MSFS. I used to fly the A2A B-17 back in the day and haven’t found anything to fill that niche yet. H

Hopefully this fills at least some of it. A2A really set the standard back in the day and still do with their MSFS 2020 offerings. I don’t know if MicroProse are setting their sights quite as high as that but I still suspect that we’ll see something quite good.

  2. Kind of mad that a developer like MicroProse is making a product for MSFS! I hope it’s as amazing as it deserves to be. The B-17 is such an iconic machine.

Hopefully not too mad 🙂 It’s a separate development and team from their usual and its got some great developers behind it so I do have high hopes.
