New content keeps on flowing out for Microsoft Flight Simulator and today its Got Friends and their brand new AS 33 Me glider release that is in the spotlight. Let’s have a look at this new glider!

Go soaring!

Launched late yesterday, Got Friends have unleashed a new glider into the Microsoft Flight Simulator landscape. The AS 33 Me is a rendition of the Schleicher AS 33. The ‘Me’ designation indicates that this is an electric self-launcher with its own stowable battery-powered propeller.

Got Friends are touting some significant feature and partnerships with this release. It has their LX Avionics Suite (coming soon to other MSFS gliders), highly detailed exterior and interior. It comes with a lengthy list of liveries including designs inspired by Sim Soaring Club and WeSimGlide. The aircraft can be towed by several different types including the Wilga 35A Towplane, CyberWinch, and Ford F-150 Winch Truck so you have options for getting airborne.

Quite a bit of customization is included too. The aircraft comes in both 18 meter and 15 meter wing configurations which fits into two of the various wing classifications for gliders. There are also some other features like bug wipers, customizable panels, canopy tint control, contamination drag, and other soaring related features.

The company has also partnered with 2024 World Gliding Champion Stefan Langer and SteFly to make sure the details are just right.

Got Friends AS 33 Me is available from the Got Friends webstore and will soon be on Contrail. The product is currently MSFS 2020 standard with full compatibility in 2024. A 2024 native version is due in a few weeks.
