Just Flight’s next Professional series product, the LJ45, is underway and they’ve now added it to their work in progress section of their website. Let’s have a look at their update.

Cockpit detail

The first update on the LJ45 is a small one but it has some interesting details. The art team are primarily working on the cockpit right now and their efforts have paid off with some really nice images.

Just Flight are intentionally making the aircraft a little less worn than some of their other models. This representing a slightly more modern airplane and one performing VIP duties and this highly maintained. There will still be wear and tear base on real world scans that they’ve done.

Progress sounds good and Just Flight have detailed their dev process in this quote.

The typical development cycle of our flight simulation products sees the modelling and texturing work occur first, allowing coding to then begin with a usable model. That is what you can see in evidence here, with our artist paving the way for systems coding to begin soon. Once the essential artwork is complete, our artist will then be free to move onto the next project, whatever that may be (stay tuned!), until we near the testing phase.

I look forward to learning more on this as it progresses! Read the full report here.

  1. I don’t think I’ve flown a Lear in flightsim since FS5/95, *maybe* 98. Would be really cool to get back into one now that both me and the platform are much more grown up.
