X-Plane developer X-Crafts is currently working on a version 2.0 update for their venerable ERJ Family of aircraft. We’ve seen the exterior of the ERJ Family 2.0 in prior updates, however, we had yet to see the full reveal of the cockpit. Now, we’ve got one. Let’s have a look!

Visuals from the pit!

Released earlier today, X-Crafts are showing off the latest work on their ERJ Family 2.0 cockpit. Completely redone from the ground-up, the developer says that their efforts result in much higher levels of detail. Meanwhile, they say optimization techniques learned while working on the Lineage 1000 mean that the performance hit for all of the extra detail is negligible. That sounds like a win-win!

We also get to see that many of the systems are working. Here again, X-Crafts are touting new high-resolution displays, moving map, redesigned PFDs and MFDs that match real world avionics, a new EFB tailored to the jet, and an authentic FMS. These displays are poppable so you can display on screen separate anything else should you wish – always a nice thing to see as an option in X-Plane.

See the full update on the X-Crafts website!

  1. So I’ll have to choose between the probably excellent X-Crafts ERJ for X-Plane, and the also probably excellent FlightFX one for MSFS. Or just get both?

The cockpit looks pretty good! I can still remember the way those buttons felt!

Indeed! It looks like we’re going to have great options on both simulators. Not a bad problem to have!
