Just Flight seem to be firing on all cylinders right now with multiple projects on the go and significant updates incoming for their current line-up. The next one out of the gate is the Avro RJ with update v0.1.4 that moves it from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 compatible to native support and packs in new features and a new variant of the aircraft too.

New features and variants added

An extensive change log details the work that Just Flight have done to update and add some extra value to the Avro RJ. The British designed and built airliner was popular in the early 2000s as a regional jet and some are still in service with charters and smaller airlines.

For this v0.1.4 update, Just Flight have moved the aircraft from compatibility to full native 2024 support. That requires some restructuring of the aircraft, as I understand, but it should help lock in the aircraft for long term support on the newer sim. They have also added new features like the ability to import SimBrief flight plans into the FMC (previously it would only load into the EFB) and custom branding options for the cabin.

One of the other things that they did is add a new variant to the package. To date, the Avro RJ has offered the RJ 75, RJ 85 and RJ 100 variants. Each stretched to accommodate more passengers. This new version is the RJ 100QT or “quiet trader” variant. It was designed but never built and used the same freighter configuration of the BAe 146 before it. It is a bit of a “what if” configuration but still interesting and comes with FedEx, DHL, TNT and a prototype livery.

The Avro RJ is sold by Just Flight through their webstore for a regular price of $69.99 USD, however, its currently on sale for $52.49 USD. Check it out here.
