Third party X-Plane developer X-Crafts has just provided us with a big end of year status update focused on their currently in development ERJ family of airliners. The developer was targeting 2025 for a release, however, its clear that they will be shipping in 2026 and the developer wanted to help fill in some details on how things were going. Let’s have a look!

ERJ family

X-Crafts director Marko Mamula has always been open and forthcoming about how their development processes are going through their website and their “Not a Newsletter” mailer that they send out periodically. Projects like these, even with the best of intentions, often miss their estimated delivery dates as specific items end up taking longer than anticipated or have problems that need solving.

The good news as reported is that the project is coming together nicely. The aircraft will have an authentic FMS with holds (a long awaited E-Jets feature), accurate flight dynamics, start-up and more.

To help drive that point home further, X-Crafts and one of their beta testers, TJ who is also a real world ERJ pilot, has released this video showing off the aircraft’s systems. It’s lengthy but if you want to see system depth explained in glorious detail… this is the one to watch.

AirComms interactive tutorial

Next up, X-Crafts report that their new ERJ family aircraft will ship with the AirComms™ system.

This interface is designed to guide you through flying the aircraft, making the experience both easy and still super enjoyable! It will include interactive tutorials, offer tips on when to perform specific actions, and provide warnings if you forget to complete certain tasks. We want to make sure that everyone, no matter their experience level, loves flying these jets!

X-Crafts have traditionally gone above and beyond to offer training and tutorial information for those learning their jets and this is going the next step.

E-Jets and more

Also coming in 2026 is some significant updates to the E-Jets Family. The E-Freighters, with all new freight and freighter options (these are new to the real world as well), are also coming. They are also working on their next generation of E-Jets bringing the series up to v3.0 with a paid upgrade. Marko has wisely not indicated how many cups of coffee that will be.

All in all, it looks like it should be a pretty exciting year for X-Crafts and their products for X-Plane.
