I’ve covered Emerald Scenery Designs a few times over the last year or so with their selection of excellent small airport scenery packages centred mostly in Alaska. The developer reported in August that they were taking a step back from doing sim development, however, one thing lead to the next and they’ve returned to the scene together with some help from friends around the community to offer the Mini-Max 1500R Sport. Let’s have a look!
Not quite ultralight 1500R

The experimental Mini-Max 1500R Sport (which exceeds the ultralight category by 15lbs) has a 40 horsepower Rotax 447 2-stroke engine, traditional gauge instruments, and fixed landing gear. This is the subject for Emerald Scenery Design’s new aircraft project.
The project has been undertaken with the support of a number of friends including the entire Got Friends team (Mykrode, the team’s 3D modeler worked closely on this project), Sal1800, Lord Frites, Hans Hartmann, and Smitty from eSTOL who contributed the final flight model. Lots of well known names in the developer community.
The aircraft has some interesting features. A breakable prop, 2-strike choke simulations, prop spinner option, tinted glass option, multiplayer smoke, headphone simulation, vibration simulation for gauges and components, and custom Wwise sounds.

The aircraft is slated to be released this month (January) and will be available from Emerald Scenery Designs directly, as well as Orbx, and the Marketplace with support for PC and Xbox now and PS5 planned for when that comes.
Sounds very cool! Read the full developer report here.
