We’ve got a couple of stories coming at us from the world of 1C Game Studios and the IL-2 Sturmovik series. A “two-fer-one” campaign has just been released into the store giving us some Siege of Odessa action. Meanwhile, another hurdle towards early access release has cleared with the completion of the F-84’s cockpit. Let’s have a look!

Odessa campaigns

Campaign creator James =Jaegermeister= Yarbrough is back again with another enticing creation. This campaign is two in one (a two-fer!) flying over the Odessa map in the Bf 109 E-4, I-153, and Yak-1 Series 23 aircraft. Operation München has you flying with the Romanian Air Force the summer/autumn 1941 period of the Odessa siege while Under Siege puts you on the Soviet side of the missions.

There are 24 missions split across the two campaigns where you’ll fly for one side and then for the other attacking/defending many of the same targets. We’ve seen this before with a couple of Flying Circus campaigns but I believe this is the first time we’ve seen a shared narrative style campaign for WWII content.

The campaign is currently available for $13.49 USD on the IL-2 store and on Steam. You’ll, of course, need IL-2 Sturmovik: Odessa and Leningrad – Siege and Liberation to fly this one.

F-84 cockpit complete, early access beckons

Progress has been made on the last remaining cockpit for IL-2 Series Korea. The F-84 Thunderjet has been shown off before but that was in untextured form. Now the final product is available to see in pre-rendered format. The next step is to move the aircraft into their beta test.

The final bit of the update for the F-84 cockpit talks next steps not just for the F-84 but for the project on the whole.

Although there is still quite a bit left to polish and debug, the project is getting closer to the stage of readiness when we can deliver it to those who pre-ordered as part of the early access program. We remind you that you can pre-order on our store page and gain access to the project well before the official release date.

We’re still awaiting a more solid date, however, sometime in Q2 or late Q2 seems quite possible if the project is indeed coming together well at this point. Pre-order remains an option with a bit of a discount for those looking for the complete package.
