A new update from Ugra Media confirms that DCS: Syria, one of DCS World’s best known scenery addons, is receiving a substantial addition. Let’s look at some of the details!

Seasons, new points of interest, extended

DCS: Syria surely holds the record for the most number of extensions and expansions to the scope of the original project. Ugra Media released the map years ago and have been steadily expanding and enhancing it over time. It has become one of the most popular maps for single and multiplayer.

The new additions? An extension of the map southwards to include all of Israel, the Gaza Strip, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem. New spring, fall and winter seasonal variations are being added. Three new mountain dams and a nuclear power plant in Turkey are being added. There’s also refinements to the coastline, scenes for air defense systems,

The following airports and airfields are being added:

  • Nevatim Airbase
  • Hatzerim Airbase
  • Hatzerim Flight Academy
  • Teyman Airfield in Israel
  • Cukurova International Airport (Adana-Mersin) in Turkey
  • Zarqa and the H4 Emergency Strip in Jordan

And here is a look at the full scope of the updated map. Note how much further south the map now extends.

And in true Ugra Media fashion there are videos like this one.

  1. Did you know that nuclear reactors are so well protected from being destroyed from explosive projectiles because they are encased in concrete so thick?

  2. I don’t fly on this map very often. It’s not even in my top Three. Just personal geographic preference. But it would still be the first map I’d recommend to someone looking for “The DCS experience”. The quality, diversity of terrain, and bang for your buck are top notch.
