As is typical, SimWorks Studios has continued a steady stream of updates via their Facebook page on what the status is on their various projects. The PC-12 is the biggest update for the developer with a significant set of feature changes and additions in the latest update. There’s also a check-in on the Kodiak 100 and a tease about the next project.
PC-12 update is here

It’s still a MSFS 2020 compatible update but SimWorks Studios PC-12 has continued to evolve nonetheless. The latest update is a pretty big one. You may remember that the project required a lot of effort to get the unique handling of the PC-12 under control and SimWorks Studios seems to have managed to do that before turning attention to another issue – swappable avionics.
The developer has implemented their tablet interface, developed for the AirVan, on the PC-12 now which means you can swap the avionics out without the clunky need of swapping it externally in a utility or from an Installer.

They’ve also updated the aircraft with the EFIS50 Weather Radar which is now functional under Wx and WxA modes. Adding NAV and MAP modes to the EFIS50 are planned in a future update which they say will be the final major update for the aircraft.
Kodiak 100 and AirVan updates
The first bit of news is that the Kodiak 100 MSFS 2020 version is getting a few features from the 2024 version backported. New yaw damper, trimming, flap drag, and fixes to the AC system are in testing.
Over on the recently released 2024 version, SWS are now pushing towards release on a major update that will add governor, beta range, and ITT simulation improvements for the engine. Some of these improvements were reliant on features added in SU5 so you can see why SWS have been waiting on that before moving towards release of these new features.
Meanwhile, fine tuning on the CFD flight model for the aircraft is underway.

The team are plotting to release an expansion pack called the Kodiak 100 Medevac expansion. It will have a custom Medevac interior, career compatibility, and four air ambulance liveries.
Both the Kodiak 100 and AirVan have a bug with the exit point for skydivers in MSFS career mode and that has been fixed for both of them now.
New project to be announced next month
SimWorks Studios has a new project underway and they say that once the dust settles from FSReborn’s Phenom release, they intend to start talking about the new project. Reportedly this is a project the team have been working on for years!
