The folks at IndiaFoxtEcho have provided a DCS World update on two of their modules in the last several days. The G.91 gets a status update on the progress of that project and the MB.339 is getting a new AI assistant as well. Let’s check it out!

G.91 makes progress

IndiaFoxtEcho are reporting that their DCS: G.91 project is making progress with main focus on the flight model. A surface based aerodynamic model and work on all of the aircraft’s controls are being done to ensure that the G.91 feels “alive” without scripted behaviours. Similarly, systems like the electrical, hydraulic, radio, weapon and cockpit systems are also all being implemented with the goal being fully authentic systems behaviour.

The G.91 is planned to get JATO integration with thrust and propellant modelling integrated with the rest of the aircraft dynamics so you’ll be able to experience an exceptionally short takeoff.

The G.91 also has a stability system that they are also busy working into the system. Further updates are expected over the next months they report so while the jet is clearly coming together, it also doesn’t appear to be imminent.

MB-339? Meet Mario!

The DCS: MB-339 is getting a new feature that IndiaFoxtEcho is currently prototyping. The system, inspired by Jester from Heatblur, is called M.A.R.I.O. for Multirole Assistant for Reconnaissance, Intercept and Operations. The intent is to give the 339 a “lightweight second seat” to help with situational awareness with traffic and threat callouts and some basic flight guidance.

The system is considered experimental for now and not a confirmed feature but it should add some neat extras to the MB-339.
