The wait is nearly over. Synaptic Simulations A220 has long been sought after as a high fidelity airliner simulation for Microsoft Flight Simulator. With so few A220 options around, this one has a lot of flight sim fans pinning their hopes on it. We now have a release window and we know what the release plans are so let’s have a look at that a well as videos that have come out.
Here we go!

The hype machine for Synaptic’s A220 has been creeping up steadily over the last few weeks which has generated attention but also a bit of discord within the community as some members reacted negatively to the preview livestream. We’ve seen ample previews of the A220 at this point and people are keen to try it out for themselves. The wait is nearly over.
On July 21st, iniBuilds announced that the project would be releasing next week – likely somewhere between July 27 to 31st. It’s not an exact date but its close enough.
It has also been confirmed that, like the A340 and TriStar before it, iniBuilds are going to be releasing the airliner through the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace first. While this has not always been a popular choice, iniBuilds has repeatedly suggested that this is a more secure method that helps slow down piracy of popular products. If they continue their current policy, you’ll also be able to switch from Marketplace to the iniBuilds Manager in a few months time when it releases on their own storefront eliminating at least some concerns over a Marketplace only release initially.
We’ve also seen iniBuilds release a “Welcome To The Synaptic A220” video which, at 47 minutes long, provides for a substantial look at visuals, sounds, and systems. If you’re thinking of buying it, this should help you decide.
Exact release date, time, and pricing are not yet revealed. Stay tuned for more.
