It’s Friday and we’ve got a new DCS World report coming in. This week its Reflected Simulatiions Eagles Rising campaign that is getting the attention together with an update from Red Star Simulations on the DCS: MiG-17F.

Red Star’s MiG-17F continues to progress

A new developer report has arrived and this one is from Red Star Simulations. Its a recap of recent updates we’ve seen from the developer directly with progress and testing now underway across systems, flight model, ground handling, damage model, and audio. Navigation and avionics are now functional as well and an overhaul of the VK-1F engine simulation has also occurred.

The new engine simulation includes compressor surges, flameouts, hot starts, engine damage, restart procedures and associated visual effects.

Progress is indeed coming along well with this module.

Reflected’s Eagles Rising campaign is coming

Prolific DCS World campaign developer Reflected Simulations has a new campaign on the way. A new 12-mission historically based campaign includes cut scenes, period correct tactics and procedures, nearly 1,000 voice overs and radio broadcasts, custom skins, unique kneeboards, checklists and encounter reports as part of the immersion of the campaign.

Here’s more of the description:

Join the 4th Fighter Group, and fly on the wing of Blakeslee, Goodson and Gentile as the Eighth Air Force launches its largest raids to date in late 1943 and early 1944. Every mission is built from meticulous research and original wartime documents, recreating events exactly as they unfolded more than 80 years ago. Strap into your P-47 on a foggy morning, feel the air tremble as 48 radial engines roar to life, climb through the clouds in tight formation, break into the sunlight and marvel at the majestic sight of the endless stream of bombers. Keep your head on a swivel: the enemy fighters are waiting, and they’re coming with everything they have.

The campaign will require DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt, DCS: Normandy 2.0, and DCS: WWII Assets Pack to function. The campaign is due for a release “soon” so look for that to come along then.

One response to “DCS World DCS: MiG-17F and Eagles Rising Campaign details revealed”

  1. I think the Mig-17 will be a great cold war addition. Definitely allow mission designers an additional level of historical value when making missions for the F-4, F-100D and other cold war aircraft. The campaign, while interesting is something that doesn’t feel right without a true razorback appropriate for the timeframe.
