Aircraft developer Flight FX has released Cessna Citation X V2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The release includes a thorough overhaul of the aircraft’s systems and features adding substantially to the airplane’s capabilities. Let’s have a look at what has changed in this V2 update!
Significant updates for Citation X in MSFS 2024

Flight FX made a bit of a splash with their Citation X release in the summer of 2025. The aircraft has seen a number of updates since release, however, this latest change is significant and its focused on the MSFS 2024 version of the aircraft. Here’s a little of what Flight FX had to say about the changes:
V2.1.4 represents a substantial update to the Citation X, touching nearly every part of the aircraft, including avionics, flight dynamics, performance prediction, the EFB, walkaround functionality, visuals, sound, Career Mode support, and our new Inertial Immersion System.
The aircraft gains a lengthy list of new features. For example, a new “inertial immersion system” has a body and seat based inertial effects system with rattles, shakes, vibrations, turbulence, windshear and touchdown staff buffet effects all programmed in. Flight FX want you to feel the aircraft under you a little more than before with these new camera based effects.
The aircraft also gains Career Compatibility (VIP transport specialization), native walkaround support, an overhaul of the P2000 navigation computer, missed approach support for the FMC, advisory VNAV, avionics updates like an autothrottle overhaul, EGPWS and GPWS, and added CAS messages. The EFB has been updated too with new moving map updates, SimBrief sync, MSFS 2024 native LIDO charts, and MSFS 2024 flight plan transfer fixes.
Visually there’s a new wing flex simulation, reworked exterior visuals, corrected rain effects and MSFS 2024 specific windshield scratch textures and iridescence. Sound tweaks are also listed in the change log.
Check out the updated product information page on the Flight FX website for the full list of features on the V2 release of the aircraft. The aircraft is purchased in the MSFS 2024 Marketplace for $29.99 USD. Current MSFS 2024 owners will see the V2 update come in automatically and for free – that’s always nice!
MSFS 2020 users not entirely left out
While some of the changes to the Citation X are specific to the 2024 version of the aircraft, Flight FX have released a statement with today’s update indicating that they are going to backport every fix and improvement they can.
That effort will reportedly be the last remaining significant update for the Citation X on the older sim and maintenance only updates will be planned after that.
