The next airliner project that iniBuilds intends to release is their A380 Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The product looks to offer an extensive experience for operating the super jumbo airliner and today’s live stream was all about showcasing the features that the product is going to offer. Let’s have a look!

The A380 is coming “soon”

Showing off the A380 in a nearly 2-hour long stream, Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Manager Matt (Chewwy) and iniBuilds own Cameron and Mike gave us our first full look at their upcoming A380.

The live stream starts with a tour of the exterior before turning to the interior and then to the cockpit. The scale of the aircraft is evident in the stream with walkaround mode being particularly interesting to experience as the airplane towers above you. The cabin is fully modeled including both decks, the cabin, the showers, the washrooms and everything else in between. The showers even have a little animation and the water levels are tracked as part of the aircraft’s weight.

The aircraft has an extensive EFB which was showcased, the avionics and systems depth was given some attention during the middle of the stream as was the failure modeling and ECAM features. We also learn some practical considerations surround taxiing for the aircraft (which they say is easy but the size and weight has to be considered). We also get to hear the sound modeling and see the aircraft do a short flight.

One really interesting new feature is a skip to waypoint feature which can make very long flights, typical of the A380, more accessible.

Check it out!
