IL-2 Series gets its first sale thanks to Steam VR Fest and 1CGS has now released the official livery templates. Let’s have a look!

Steam VR Fest sale

We’re only a few months out from the full launch of Korea IL-2 Series and we’re seeing our first promotional sale. 1CGS have announced that IL-2 Series is taking part in Steam VR Fest with a 10% discount on the base game and all DLCs from September 14 through to the 21st. It’s a modest discount but if you wanted a little push to get into the new title… this might be it.

The sale is currently on Steam only and it doesn’t sound like it will be on the official website according to 1CGS’ news statement.

Livery templates now available

Folks who create custom liveries for IL-2 Series have reason to rejoice as the official templates are now available.

The liveries are available for the eight flyable types and you can get them here:

Look forward to seeing some custom liveries start to show up around the community.

  1. that was fast, month after lunch and its on discount, and i just look up steam chart numbers and no wonder, drop is big. They need to make good updates to bump game up, lunching game with this bad AI hurt it big time

    1. Just going from my own analytics, there’s lots of interest from the community but I suspect the high price and difficult economy is general may be suppressing some actual purchases. I think it will pick up more people as more content comes.

      2. That is true though I do find myself gravitating more towards Korea thanks to its newer technology and, I’ll admit, my great interest in a fresh experience that the early Cold War jets offer.

  2. Yeah, it’s a bit expensive as a single monolithic purchase. But if one is going to make use of multiple aircraft, it’s actually not too bad compared to other flight sims. 🤙

still, I’m waiting for Black Friday – at least. the coy games they played with the carriers DLC post-release announcement kinda turned me off. 🤷‍♂️

    1. You’re absolutely right about the pricing spread out across aircraft. Its not badly priced in that sense.

I do wish they had been a bit more open about Carrier Ops. I think that may have garnered a bit more excitement for the Founder’s Edition release. We had to buy that on faith. I’m very happy about what’s been announced so that’s good at least! Carrier ops may suck some folks in too.

  3. VR performance seems to be pretty bad. And not a single patch so far! That, combined with the poor AI that many people have reported, are two good reasons for me not to buy the game (yet). 😒

    1. Hopefully we’ll see some movement on that sooner than later. It works really well for me in 2D mode but VR seems to always be a greater challenge to tackle.
