We’re learning new details about the status of the DCS: F-15C Eagle project which was announced in the 2025 and beyond video released well over a year ago. We’re also learning about the Su-25A Frogfoot project which, as far as we know, is still a free to play release coming to DCS World sometime in the future. Let’s have a look at the latest efforts!

F-15C and Su-25A take shape

Eagle Dynamics reports that the DCS: F-15C Eagle project is fully underway and is in full production. The latest developer images show how earlier efforts to laser scan the aircraft have paid off as elements like the canopy, the cockpit, and the air brake come together in highly detailed ways. The description says that they are working their way through the aircraft, panel by panel, as that development effort pays off.

These are, of course, work in progress images and in two of the three shots there are no textures yet applied. I think it’s safe to say that the early guess at a 2026 release isn’t likely, but, progress does appear to be good! We know from prior updates that systems and other work are also underway.

Meanwhile, another aircraft, the Su-25A Frogfoot project, is continuing to take shape as well with detailed damage models now being shown off. Eagle Dynamics reminds us that an aircraft like the Su-25, a close air support aircraft, may take damage during its job so having detailed damage model and visuals helps tell that story.
