It’s been a long winding road for FlightSim Studio’s E-Jets airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It first went into early access back in January of 2023 and since then the airliner has gone through a series of development challenges before finally emerging out of early access today. Let’s have a look at what the release version promises.

E-Jets airliners for MSFS 2020 and 2024

FlightSim Studio AG first released the E170 and E175 back in early 2023 and has since gone on to also release the E190, E195, E190F, and E195F. All of these have been in early access and the aircraft, particularly some of its more advanced features, have been in testing for years now. Now, it seems that the lengthy test period has paid off and the aircraft has finally now come to version 1.0 with a full release.

Some of the core features that have been added along the way include a custom autopilot with E-Jets functionality, VNAV, RNAV, terrain radar, as well as external software support like Navigraph and SimBrief, PDC clearance via Hoppie network, an ACARS weather uplink, and integrated performance planning. Behind the scenes, the developers have moved their workflows from Javascript to WASM for faster performance.

The developer plans to offer a service pack with MCDU Fix Info, Vertical Direct-To on the MCDU, Say Intentions and BeyondATC integration, and sound improvements. That’s planned for December. A MSFS 2024 native release is expected in December. The aircraft does work in MSFS 2024 using MSFS 2020 compatibility. Read more about the release here!

Meanwhile, the developer has also offered some advice on how to get started with your first flight. That includes notes for veteran pilots who may have not been flying it for a while and who may need to clear out WASM cache files. Be sure to read about that if you run into some trouble from a prior install.

One response to “FSS E-Jets series reaches version 1.0 ending early access”

  1. It’s weird after all this time they are calling it “1.0” but then following it with a service pack that adds yet more missing FMS features that are used daily by pilots. This whole saga has certainly not put them in the best light.

I hope the final product lives up to all of this; if it does I still wouldn’t mind putting it on my wish list.

Their 727s are fantastic, though I think they have said that’s done by a completely different team.

I’m hoping they make a 2024 version of their Searey. This is an aircraft that I think would be tons of fun in real life, but I didn’t learn about it until after I switched to 2024. They say the 2020 version is not compatible, and I don’t really feel like testing that at this time.
