DCS WWII modules go on-sale

Eagle Dynamics has announced a WWII themed sale to commemorate V-E Day in Europe and Victory Day in Russia. May 7-9 is closely associated with the end of WWII in Europe (although it would carry on for a few more months in the Pacific) across multiple countries and to commemorate the end of that conflict – a sale of themed modules.

It’s a shame that there are not more World War Two servers in DCS, but I do understand why. The aircraft are mis-matched and pit very unbalanced planesets against each other. I know there is a P-47 due, but we’re a long way from a fully fledged sim. If they were to create a WW2 Flaming Cliffs type package I bet there would be a huge demand for it. If we look at how well IL2 BoX is doing with the modules it seems like a popular model to follow. These is still room for the fetailed models, but in reality the WW2 aircraft don’t need the same degree of cockpit interraction as the A-10C and co. do.

The start-up in the P-51 and Spitfire is easy enough, but I wouldn’t miss having to do it.

  Completely agreed. DCS’ biggest issue is a lack of focus on modules. They are a bit haphazard in the way they pick and choose aircraft and that hurts WWII scenarios even more than most.

I saw somewhere, in an interview with the guy from TFS, that they’re looking at an FC3 type module for WW2…keeping my fingers crossed.
