There wasn’t much new for this weeks’ DCS World News Weekend update but we do have a few new things to have a look at including some brand new screenshots of the DCS: F-16 which show off the latest texture work for the module and we get a look at some new trucks seen commonly at airfields all around DCS World.
The latest Ural truck update
We’ve seen a few updates for the ubiquitous Ural truck for DCS World and the latest two we’re looking at are the mobile electrical unit and the firetruck. I have a sneaking suspicion that we’ll see a bit more of these now that they have been updated at the detail levels we’re seeing here.
This is part of a larger effort by Eagle Dynamics to slowly bring some of their DCS World objects up to a far higher level of detail. A few objects date back at least to Lock On: Modern Air Combat.
Hopefully a few more AI aircraft will sneak out before end of the year.
New screenshots, textures for Viper
The initial first few screenshots felt a little lower quality than the usual DCS World fare. I think it ironic that just a few years ago they would have been remarkable. In any case, Eagle Dynamics presses on and these latest screenshots show an aircraft that in my eyes is every bit as detailed as the F/A-18C Hornet which I hold up as being one of the best in DCS World.
One additional image has also emerged on the Eagle Dynamics Facebook page and then was subsequently up-scaled by the community to provide this beautiful image (I can’t find the original source now so apologies for a lack of credit – contact me if you know).
