Version 2.1.0 of X-Craft’s ERJ Family 2.0 has released in the last several days and it comes with a fairly significant array of feature improvements, system updates, and all known crash-to-desktop bugs have reportedly been sorted out. Let’s have a look at how things are looking for this X-Plane 12 focused regional jet.

Stability improvements, features added

X-Crafts have a strong track record of not just releasing a product but also continuing to update them over time. You don’t have to look any further than their E-Jets Family 2.0 series to see that the airliner project has seen updates over the last few years adding features and improving the product. The same appears to be the case for the ERJ Family 2.0. Unsurprisingly!

The first is word that the developer has resolved “virtually everything that was reported after launch” with regards to crash-to-desktop bugs. I never ran into any as I was doing the preview of the product a few months ago but some users have reported issues post launch and so its good to see these issues resolved.

X-Crafts have also been working on systems and incorporating user feedback into the process. Missing avionics features like VOR mode annunciator on the FMA, drift indicator on the HSI, and PLI stall warning indications on the PFD have been added. Various bugs and display issues including GS pointer behaviour, AHRS alignment issues, and navmap problems have also reportedly been fixed.

GPWS now has two selectable callout options including a Default and Advanced mode (with 100 – 50 – 40 – 30… etc.) on landing. The EFB will let you configure which mode you want to use.

Sounds, systems, the addition of cabin announcements, ITT throttle adjustments, and AirComms tutorial updates are all also packaged in. It’s quite a substantial push following the initial launch and great to see.
