RAZBAM’s redoubled efforts over the course of 2019 to bring their currently released modules towards a completed state have paid dividends both in actual content as well as improved community reputation. The latest round of this is the completion of the aircraft’s training missions which are now all complete.
Twenty missions of training
There are now twenty missions included with the AV-8B all set to help with the training process. Importantly, each of the 20-missions has variants that let you jump straight to the training part of the procedure which is a really nice touch.
More feature complete
With the training missions now completed, we’re seeing the AV-8B look more and more feature complete. There are still things that need to be worked on and RAZBAM’s bug tracker shows at least 10 bugs currently being tracked.
It’s not quite done yet but with steady progress over the course of the last 9-months in particular, I’m feeling far more confident about RAZBAM’s ability to deliver a completed module and the AV-8B has really come together.
A campaign and manual are coming too!
RAZBAM contributor and well known DCS World campaign builder, Baltic Dragon, is working on a campaign for the AV-8B.
Next steps for the Harrier: campaign (free 5 missions + next 10 as DLC) and a completely new manual.Baltic Dragon on his Facebook page
A new manual will certainly help as a lot has changed with the AV-8B since the initial release and many of the training materials for it are out of date or incomplete.
For the campaign it’ll be nice to see the 5-missions though having the next 10 split into a DLC pack is … interesting. It’s sure to rankle a few fans though Baltic Dragon’s mission quality is such that a small fee would probably be easy to absorb if the campaign were worth it.
More details on that when it comes out!
