The DCS: Mi-24P Hind has been in development for a while now at Eagle Dynamics with helicopter fans awaiting more information about this module. We’ve seen some early work in progress images, however, we’re now getting a look at the Mi-24 in all its glory as Eagle Dynamics has just released a trove of new images for us to look at.
Detail in every pixel
If these aren’t the finished textures, I don’t have any idea how much better it could look because the interior work on the Mi-24’s cockpit is outstanding. Have a look at this collection and pay close attention to the last image as it shows a close up detail shot of one of the braces… Insane detail.
We’re also getting a good look at the first exterior images as well. Here the module shines nearly as well went detail located in every corner of the 3D model.
Doesn’t that look impressive? DCS World and Eagle Dynamics art team constantly impress and this is no different than the excellent work we’ve seen on other modules and objects that have been updated.
A Hind for every occasion
The Mi-24P also known as the Hind F in NATO nomenclature is the gunship version of the Mi-24. This primarily means that it replaces the 12.7mm machine gun with a fixed, side mounted, 30mm GSh-30-2K twin-barrel autocannon. 1,500kg of ordinance can be carried on the wing pylons including the 9K114 Shturm guided anti-tank missile.
With 2,648 and 48 nations operating various versions of the Mi-24, this is a very popular aircraft worldwide. The latest upgrades and new builds of this helicopter including the more advanced Mi-35 likely mean that this helicopter will be used for decades to come.
DCS pilots will find a great deal of versatility in the operation of this aircraft and I know many multiplayer servers will see these aircraft flying troops around and busting up targets.
Should be a great addition to DCS World!
