DCS: Persian Gulf map is free today and tomorrow

It’s a familiar theme by now as the DCS World stay at home sale continues on. This time, instead of an aircraft, it’s the DCS: Persian Gulf map and if you’ve not checked it out yet and have avoided the other free trials… this is one that I don’t think you should skip.

My favourite map in the DCS World series

Admittedly there aren’t a huge list of maps to choose from but if there was just one that I had to play on, it’d be DCS: Persian Gulf. It’s a magnificent map featuring a lot of different terrain from rugged mountains, deep valleys, desert expanses, open ocean, a strategic straight, and dense urban areas.

I’ve written extensively about the map before here and here. I’ll let these screenshots do the rest of the talking.

I bought this map a while back and it’s fantastic! It’s huge, diverse, entertaining, and the new night lighting make Dubai and the big airports look great.

No matter what plane you fly, if you fly DCS, you gotta have this map.

Agreed. It’s the standout map for DCS World’s modern aircraft right now and it’s my go-to most of the time. Caucasus offers a different look which is great but Persian Gulf is perfectly suited to all kinds of different scenarios.

Agree with you both, it’s my QMB map and a lot of our squad flies it for missions. Mind you, the Syria map looks pretty cool when it comes along.

@Shamrock: the water way is the Strait of Hormuz – rather than ‘Straight’ (‘cos it’s actually quite windy)
