Incirlik Air Base and the nearby city of Adana are the subjects of the latest DCS: Syria map coverage coming from Matt Wagner and Eagle Dynamics and from third party developer Ugra Media. In addition to an interesting tour of this section of the map, we get two additional teases for future content. Let’s have a look!
The tour
Incirlik Air Base is a key USAF outpost in Turkey and is the subject of the latest tour that Matt Wagner takes us on in this new map. Once again, the tour shows us at very low altitudes just how detailed all of the buildings are including the spot where fire fighting crews train the hulk of a dismantled aircraft. We also get to see many of the details in nearby Adana including several architecturally notable shopping malls, mosques, and hotels in the area.
Unlike the past video, this area is notably more colourful and is more green than the arid regions we’ve seen in the last couple of videos. This again is showing us how varied the region both in sim and in real life.
Without further delay, have a look at the video!
Two teasers
First, near the end of the video, Matt Wagner talks about the current state of the map. Apparently all regions of the map are now in testing which is a significant milestone and likely means that we’re getting closer and closer to release.
Matt did talk briefly about the strong desire from the community for nearby Cyprus and RAF Akrotiri to be modeled by the Ugra team. His comment suggests that this section of the map will be added and that Eagle Dynamics will work with Ugra Media team to do it. Great news and a great place for the future Eurofighter Typhoon module to fly out of in just one example.

Then back at the start of the video Matt Wagner looks over at several parked AH-64 Apache’s and says “huh” which I think is the new “What’s that doing there?” Notably, these Apache’s are AH-64D Longbow model helicopters. A potential new module in the works? Let the speculation begin!
