FlightSimExpo is back for 2021 with a hybrid approach that will have both online and in-person events planned and has a busy schedule planned that includes presentations from airline pilots, air traffic controllers, developers and content creators. Here’s all the latest information!
In person and online
FSExpo is happening this year! The 2020 edition was cancelled like nearly everything else last year but it is back for 2021. It will be taking place on June 4-6, 2021 at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, CA, USA. It will also happen online.
Because of the global pandemic, FSExpo planners are going for a hybrid approach that will feature both in person and online experiences available. For in person registration, FSExpo will cost $70 for access to both days of events on Saturday and Sunday and that includes access to all Saturday and Sunday seminars as well as the exhibit hall. Captain’s Corner, a series of information sessions happening on the Friday, is available for an extra $10. The online experience includes three-day seminar livestream access and, according to the press release, the ability to view product videos, access discounts, and connect to exhibitor ‘video booths’ in the virtual exhibit hall. Virtual attendance will cost just $15.
Conference co-founder Evan Reiter has been encouraging people to pre-register now so that the organizers can help attract as many sponsors and exhibitors as possible. Evan is quoted as saying, “When we can approach sponsors and exhibitors with attendee registration numbers, we can have a much more productive conversation and deliver a conference that is most aligned with the community’s wishes.”
The organizers of FSExpo are welcoming the community to join Moosestaffa’s Twitch stream this Saturday at 12pm PST, 3pm EST and 2000 GMT for discussion on what is being planned for this year.
In 2019, I went to the FSExpo convention and had a fantastic time and have made lasting connections and friends from the event. The whole experience is one that I will not soon forget. It seems unlikely that I’ll be attending in person this year unfortunately due to the current crisis but I am going to cover the expo virtually. With any luck, 2022 will be a great year for me to attend in person!
