We’ve known for some time that Ugra Media was going to continue work on DCS: Syria by adding Cyrpus and more of northern Turkey but it appears that they are also intent on adding more details on other sectors of the map too. A post on the DCS World forums has shown that off to good effect with before and after images and a couple of videos too.
Updates coming to the map
Ugra Media developer, ,posted a message to the DCS World forums with new information on what Ugra Media would be doing to spruce up a few areas of the map. Already highly detailed, these improvements just move the bar further along and a few of them appear to be taking advantage of new technologies that ED has been developing.
We are continuing to improve the map. Updated coastlines to support new DCS technologies. State borders and demarcation zones have been worked out, including under the protection of UN troops.

Two videos have been posted that show off some of the updated areas as well. There are several landmarks including a new soccer stadium, wind farm, and other building details that appear to be new from what I can remember of these areas of the map. The latest updates centre on Beirut and Haifa.
If that wasn’t enough, there are also several before and after images that show off the improvements too.
Check out these images and look out for more details right here on the DCS World forums.
Updated: This article has been updated to fix broken links to Ugra Media’s YouTube videos. It’s unknown why the original videos were taken down and replaced as they appear to be the same videos.
