IndiaFoxTecho updates T-45C for MSFS

Fans of the T-45C Goshawk, the recently released jet trainer for Microsoft Flight Simulator, should take note and make sure they update their aircraft to version 1.10 of the aircraft as it features some significant updates to the aircraft. Here’s what IndiaFoxTecho has updated and what you may want to pay close attention to.

Some big updates

There’s a lot to take in in version 1.10 for the T-45C for MSFS but some of the highlights are big updates that you should be aware of. First, the team has redone the external engine sounds and replaced the interior sound loop as well. I haven’t heard the new sounds yet but I’m sure it is a better sample that sounds better than the one out right now.

The developers have also included ‘Lite’ version of the aircraft. This version will have a front cockpit only and the 3D model will be 70% of the full version. They mention fewer texture sheets so this likely means slightly less texture detail on the model which frees up some VRAM for you. The HUD colour will also not be selectable and the MFD’s will be simplified with a fixed ADI and right side HSI. These changes apparently reduce the amount of code running by 25% and 27% as well. All good things if you’re having performance issues.

Interesting! Performance concerns were one of the main reasons I was holding off on this one…

A Lite version could be a good thing- it you get a chance, do you think you could report how its performance compares with one of the simpler stock planes, like the Cessna 150?

Hi Drago. I definitely will. I have a review copy from IndiaFoxTecho and I have been flying it, however, there are also performance issues with Update 3 and that has killed my ability to fly most aircraft. Even the default aircraft are affected for me so my ability to give this a fair shake and compare it fairly is somewhat degraded at the moment. As soon as I can test more fairly, I definitely will!

Sad thing is that IFT said the addon is not selling very well, so the likelihood of new engine sounds is low, due to external development costs.
It’s somewhat dismal to hear that other “military” addons that are far lower quality/fidelity are selling well because…afterburners, I guess.

Word is that the external sounds are very little improved. A youtuber played the updated aircraft in-sim, then compared it to an IRL video of T-45 taking off. Not even close (even relative to other sim modules).

TBH, I don’t care overly much about external sounds on a $30 addon that’s otherwise well modeled (as this one is).

That’d be sad to hear if it wasn’t selling well. Has something been said in a statement?

This is very much a quality product compared to some of the other military options that I’ve seen come up.

yes, from IFE’s Facebook a couple days ago:
        “Indiafoxtecho
…Problem is, the T-45 is not selling that well, and we need to carefully spend any money to keep the price as low as we want…”

The good news is that since then he’s saying that he’s definitely still working on making the sounds better, presumably by using sound sources other than direct recordings (i.e., expensive!), etc.

Sounds seems to be the only major complaint at the moment, so hopefully he can get it to a decent state. Would love to see this addon continue to advance.
