Going beyond the MPD tutorial that we got in the last video, this time out its Growling Sidewinder with a very early look at the DCS: F-15E. This is the most we’ve seen the F-15E so far. If you’re a fan, you don’t want to miss this.

Strike Eagle (and a bit of South Atlantic)

In the backdrop we see the new RAZBAM DCS: South Atlantic map that is currently in development but it’s the airplane in the foreground that steals all of the attention. DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle has been in development for years now and it looks like RAZBAM is ready to show us a lot more as its now in the hands of Growling Sidewinder so we can get a nice preview of this jet.

This video, coming on the heels of the last one, shows us a lot more. The exterior and interior with a look at both front and rear seats really helps show us what this is all about. Growling Sidewinder gives us a good look at both the overall cockpit and the details. He also gets into the systems a little bit.

Have a look at the video!

  1. that bird looks amazing but I’m not sure how much utility you will get multi-crew while it will be more efficient I’m not sure if it would be enough of a change to warrant the hours of crew practice required like in the F-14 but will definitely be fun

Yeah the multi-crew in this jet seems to be more about dividing the workload with both crew being capable of doing everything. It does get hectic in the F-16 and F/A-18 in some missions so I can see the benefit.

  2. Looks great! Not sure if I have it right, but I heard this thing will carry a 4000lb GBU. That’s fine with me.

The biggest seems to be the GBU-28, a 5,000lb bunker buster weapon. Definitely the F-15E can carry some big weapons or a lot of smaller ones which can be useful too.

The two fully functional cockpits will make this the best trainer aircraft in any sim 😉

  4. Looking very good indeed.

Been a multi-crew jet, will the F-15 also come with a Jester / Iceman-like AI like in the F-14 (I hope so)?

The answer to that has been no for most of the DCS: F-15E’s development. However, and I have yet to listen to this myself, apparently the recent podcast episode with RAZBAM has confirmed a direction change and that they are going to implement some AI assistance. Looking forward to more details on that.

      1. That would be awesome! I really appreciate the Jester AI as implemented by HB.

I suspect it won’t do as much but then it probably doesn’t need to. The F-15E is quite different with the two having very similar capabilities back and front so the extra person is really about workload rather than having a dedicated role.

        Should be fascinating to experience.

  6. I should resist but I expect the temptation will get the better of me.

Does it also match the ‘C’ in most A2A? I understand that it has a similarly powerful radar and the same missile options. Can Sniper be used as a FLIR?
