Matt Wagner previews the ARC-210 for DCS: A-10C II

It’s one of the last items on the list for the upgraded DCS: A-10C II which came out back in September of 2020. The upgraded jet promised some new features like the helmet mounted display and support for APWKS rockets. Now its getting an updated radio and it has some implications for other modules too. Oh and if you look in the background of the video you can see what appears to be Normandy 2.0.

Radio now, satellite radio later

The ARC-210 radio is one of the upgraded features on the DCS: A-10C II. A more modern radio implementation, the video today goes through how to interact with it and how to interact with it using the up front control panel and HUD – a nifty feature.

Matt Wagner also mentions the inclusion of satellite radio functionality which is coming to this radio first and then to other modules that support it too. So there will be a two step process here with the newer radio coming in first and then an added feature later. How the satellite radio will work as part of DCS World’s gameplay is a bit of a mystery to me but I’m curious to see how that plays out.

In the meantime, check out the video!

What a plane. Even if I don’t fly it as much as others, I’d hate to be without it. Every time I hop in I’m impressed. Totally immersive, like you’re entering “The A-10 World”.

It’s really good. I got into it pretty far the last time I spent time with it and then stopped. Have to get back into it!

The cool thing is that it’s another example of ED improving the entire game, and not just slapping a feature on a single module.

I also like all the integration with the HUD and other stuff – I had no idea it was that integrated with the rest of the systems 🙂
