SimWorks Studios shows off PC-12 for first time

It’s been a while in coming but we have, for the first, time seen SimWorks Studios’ Pilatus PC-12 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Together with some screenshots we learn more about their PC-12 project and what the status is. Let’s have a look!

Seeing the PC-12 and more

First off, we have three screenshots showing the aircraft in-sim for the first time. The exterior model is not yet done and SWS reports that they are still making changes, closing holes in geometry, and adding details. Fine tuning of the animations is also ongoing.

The interior is still in production as well and isn’t ready to be shown off yet. A lot of progress has been made with a custom EIS implemented, GNS530/430 already implemented, and GTN750/650 combination on the way. The team also report that their efforts to produce a high quality cockpit have resulted in even more details with less system resources needed than with the Kodiak.

Even better, the plan is to make the complete interior fully interactive and easily swapable so the team can add multiple configurations.

For the passenger cabin we intend to have everything usable, from the armrests to the toilet and perhaps, even the snacks. Our goal is to have the aircraft capable of receiving unique interiors for each tail number.

The final bit of good news is that the flight model is mostly worked out and the plane is flying as it should in most areas of flight. Reportedly, some engine quirks and some discussion over P-factor on takeoff is still being ironed out.

Good news on the whole and some solid progress on what is likely to become another flagship product for the folks at Sim Works Studios.

I do too! Their Kodiak 100 is very impressive and I can’t wait to try their PC-12 as a result.
