The folks at AuthentiKit have revealed the plans for their do-it-yourself Bf109 throttle which, for those wanting to build their own flight sim gear, might appreciate! If you’re looking for a high degree of realism with their in-sim aircraft and want to match your Bf109 flight sim experience with a realistic throttle, this one might be for you! Let’s have a look at what it’s all about.

Make your throttle authentic

Revealed just several days ago now, AuthentiKit are a unique entrant into the flight sim hardware scene because of the DIY nature of what they offer. I did a feature on AuthentiKit a while back that might be worth a read if you want to know more.

The AuthentiKit Bf109 throttle follows predictably in the footsteps of their prior offerings by making the design of the throttle free. The files on offer include CAD files that can be used to 3D print and then assemble on your own. If you have no access to a 3D printer there are other options out there right now and the team may offer this Bf109 as one of their packages at a later date.

Meanwhile, the throttle design itself has the following features when assembled:

  • Throttle lever with hydraulic damping
  • PTT button
  • Pitch control with up/down toggle switch
  • Four position pump with ball spring detents
  • Engine on/off lever
  • Governor switch
  • Uses AuthentiKit mounting system for accurate positioning
  • Hall sensors for long life and accurate response curves

The folks at AuthentiKit of course point to the Bf109G-6 recently released by Flying Iron Simulations as well as the DCS: Bf109K-4 and the innumerable Bf109s in IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles as reasons to print out and build a throttle like this.
