Microsoft Flight Simulator third party aircraft and scenery developer SimWorks Studios has provided a recent update that focuses in on their PC-12 development and shows off a little bit about their upcoming RV-8. The PC-12 is nearing release but its not quite there yet and SWS explain everything that we need to know about their efforts.
PC-12 nearly there, but not quite

The SWS PC-12 is getting close to a final approach but its not quite there yet as the team takes some much needed summer rest before returning to deliver the last little bit of development. This aircraft is highly anticipated by many and if it manages to live up to the reputation that SWS have built for themselves over the last few years, it should be an excellent experience.
According to the recent update, all systems are now complete, the exterior model is done and the avionics are also mostly done. On the avionics front, they report that WX/PLAN mode on the HSI and KMD850 will be added in a post launch patch.
On the todo list is the interior model which still requires a bit of work to improve textures and work is still required on the sounds for the 4-bladed version (the 5-bladed version is complete). They are also still working on the flight model attempting to recreate the PC-12’s unique behavior with flaps down as best as possible given current constraints in MSFS.
Lastly, SWS have worked with Fly 7 Executive Aviation SA in Lausanne, Switzerland and their fleet of PC-12s to help capture this aircraft. A video has been produced of their experience which is intended to be released at 17:00 GMT on Friday the 18th of August on the AviationLads YouTube channel. Looking forward to that!
RV-8 moves forward

Meanwhile, SWS are also working on another entrant into the Van’s RV line with the RV-8. They report that the aircraft is making solid progress with the exterior model complete, glass cockpit (G3x) variant done, systems programming complete, and flight model undergoing various checks. An analogue cockpit and a RV-8A (with tricycle landing gear) are still in progress.
Keep an eye on the SimWorks Studios Facebook page for more updates!
