Campaign maker Baltic Dragon is among the best known campaign makers for DCS World and in a recent post to Facebook, an update was provided about the campaigns that are currently being worked on. Let’s have a look at what we might expect to see over the course of the year and into the next.

Four… or five campaigns in the works

When you’ve finished learning the ins and outs of your favourite DCS World module, flying the aircraft in scenarios is the next step and Baltic Dragon has four or five campaigns now in the works to let you extend and expand your abilities with those aircraft.

The text is a bit hard to read on the image so here are the descriptions:

F-18C: Arctic Thunder

The first campaign in the top left corner is Arctic Thunder. Here’s the description:

A 10-mission campaign for the Finnish Air Force Hornet, taking place against the backdrop of the Russian invasion in Ukraine. It will be released and share many missions with a Viper campaign from Reflected.

Release date: 2024

This one is set on the upcoming Orbx created DCS: Kola map.

F-16C: The Gamblers

Fans of the F-16C for DCS World have been waiting for a big campaign release and Baltic Dragon’s The Gamblers looks set to fit the bill. Here’s the description of the Syria map based campaign.

A 13-mission campaign developed jointly with John ‘Rain’ Waters, former F-16 demo pilot and host of The Afterburn Podcast.

The campaign will be based on some of the sorties he flew with The Gamblers, but will also focus on most interesting missions of Operation: Inherent Resolve.

Release date: first half of 2024.

F-15E: Strike Eagle

Baltic Dragon has been involved with RAZBAM’s F-15E project for quite some time having done the manual as well as the training missions for the jet. More is in the works:

I will continue to focus on the F-15E Strike Eagle manual and training missions, but also will gradually move to building full missions and a free campaign.

A bit further down the road you can expect some nice surprises which we already hinted in The Air Combat Sim Podcast.

Raven One: Combat Wingman

Working together with author Kevin Miller, Baltic Dragon has released two Raven One campaigns for DCS World and is now working on a third.

A training campaign for the F-18C, developed together with Kevin Miller, author of the Raven One series and Vincent ‘Jell-O’ Aiello, host of The Fighter Pilot Podcast and former Top Gun Instructor.

The campaign will cover workups normally done before development, based on real life experienfce and delivered by the characters know from previous Raven One campaigns.

Release date: Early 2025

Harrier?

In the update written out on Facebook, Baltic also indicates that efforts are under way to “return to the guy in the middle.” We know that RAZBAM did put any additional AV-8B updates on ice while the F-15E was being worked on but both the work and their team would be reconfigured by spring to resume on that project and it looks like Baltic Dragon is hinting at some work going on there to support those efforts. That last part is speculation of course.
