Three updates from Just Flight on three different Microsoft Flight Simulator projects have come out in recent days. We’ve got news on the Blue Bird Simuations 757 and on Just Flight’s in house development of the PA-38 Tomahawk and on the Tornado. Let’s have a look at each of them!
Blue Bird presses ahead with 757
The Blue Bird 757 is continuing on with development with the scope of the project having been extended into a deeper simulation of the Boeing narrow-body. Many of the updates we’ve already known but having them summarized in one place is always nice.
The team have switched to a C++ programming language method allowing them to build a deeper simulation of the airliner. From per-pixel level accuracy for displays to deep simulation of avionics, flight management systems and even the air conditioning, Blue Bird are setting their sights high.
An updated cockpit with improved textures, flight model testing, work on both engine types, and work on the -300 are all in process. The update comes packed with some new screenshots so let’s go on and admire those.

PA-38 Tomahawk update
Just Flight look to be upping their game on GA aircraft as the Tomahawk has picked up some interesting new features. One of those new features is the walk-around mode giving you the opportunity to check on the aircraft prior to departure. This is done through the aircraft’s EFB system. Reminiscent of A2A’s work on their Comanche.
A wear and tear system is also in place, similar to what we saw with their Arrow III/IV series, though it looks to have been expanded. Persistent maintenance over time will have an impact on the flight worthiness of the aircraft. Hard landings on rough airstrips will damage the tires more quickly for example.

And Tornado!
Rounding it out, we have an update on the Tornado with talk about liveries and systems.
Just Flight report that the Tornado is airliner like in its complexity, unsurprisingly, and that the team have decided to recode everything from scratch (instead of porting their P3D iteration over). The programmer who did the F28 is currently working on this and progress is apparently good.
Meanwhile, a Just Flight texture artist is busy at work creating liveries for the project. These 8K creations will apparently cover a range of special and typical liveries for a variety of air forces including the Royal Air Force, German Air Force, German Navy, Italian Air Force and Royal Saudi Air Force.
