We’ve got the usual DCS World Weekend News update coming in with some news on the CH-47F. There’s also some new weapon models coming in from Heatblur. Let’s also talk about the extension of the summer sale. Here we go!
CH-47 status
Regular readers know that DCS: CH-47F has been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride with a few delays coming in together with our first tutorial video and the release of the early access guide.
The good news coming in yesterday is that the module is now almost ready for early access release. They report that the extra time has been used to fix issues and add additional functions to the module. More videos are also coming which is always welcome!
New weapons
Another element to this week’s update was new weapon models. The AGM-12A, B and C are all getting visual model updates from Heatblur. This makes sense as the AGM-12 is one of the available weapons for the F-4E. Eagle Dynamics report that the weapons have been integrated with realistic control schemes with bang-bang steering and a left rolling tendency from deceleration in the transonic regime of flight. Less technically, the visual models are more visually spectacular!

The same can be said for the GBU-8/B which is also being upgraded thanks to work by Heatblur.

Summer sale
While the Steam Sale is now over, the DCS Summer Sale continues on the e-Shop with 50% off savings on multiple modules. You’ll, of course, see somewhat lower discounts on more recently released modules and on some third party selections.
The sale has been extended to July 21 at 15:00 GMT.
