On Friday, PMDG reported that they had released build 113 on their PMDG 777 line-up for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The update brings features and fixes for the entire 777 line but it also notably moves the 777-300ER into supporting MSFS 2024.

Fixes and compatibility

The big news is that the 777-300ER, the first of the line to release and one of the popular options out there in the community, is now available in MSFS 2024. It joins the 777F and 777-200ER with compatibility for the new sim.

Build 2.00.113 and 2.04.113 are now available for PMDG 777 owners. The updates are across the three aircraft line-up with most of the changes applying to all versions.

There are fixes to LOD sorting, cockpit window open/close animation, cabin lighting issues, pandel edge wear, fixes to the COMM avionics, fixes to the EPR gauge for PW and RR versions of the aircraft, and on the list goes. The full changelog is available here.

Marketplace updates don’t currently have an ETA projection. Apparently, CEO Robert S. Randazzo reports that they are “working through some data” from the Microsoft team. We’ll have to see how long it takes to sort that out.

Looking ahead

Next up, the PMDG team are turning to a fourth variation of the 777 line. The 777-200LR has entered beta testing as of this week and they hope to have it released by end of the month. Like with the other variants, this is expected to be an independent release.

More news on 737NG and 747 progress is expected in the coming weeks. PMDG are at FSExpo 2025 this year so maybe we’ll learn some interesting things from the show.

  1. PMDG seems to have their work all laid out for them. 777 family first. 737 family next. 747 family later. Still though I hope the group change their minds and make all their products duel compatible for both MSFS 2020 and 2024. Maybe even X-Plane further down the line somewhere.

They’ve got a lot of work ahead of them yep for sure.

If doing separate development cycles on the 777 proved to be commercially undesirable by the company, doing development for an entirely different sim just isn’t going to happen. Maybe if they partnered up with a X-Plane dev as Just Flight did.

      1. I suppose you make a valid point if developing aircraft for both sims if they are not making enough of a return, and that is if they would be making a return. And I guess a company like PMDG would have done their homework on what would make them economically sustainable.
